Vacuum or low-pressure apparatus, arrangements of; converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-The resistance elements R of a rectifying and smoothing set for supplying wireless receiving apparatus from A.C. mains are grouped together within the set so as to be removable therefrom as a unit. The unit incorporates an insulating strip B provided with contact bushes to afford different values of anode voltage at the output terminals. The usual components, viz., rectifier G, transformer T, smoothing chokes, and condensers C are housed in the main casing, and the condensers are arranged in a separate casing provided with contact pins D.
