Abstract
248,862. Baker & Sons, Ltd., F., and Clarkson, F. C. Dec. 18, 1924. Converting pulsating currents into steady con. tinuous currents. - Direct-current supply mains 3, 4 are connected to the low-tension terminals of wireless apparatus through leads 11, 12, the lead 12 being arranged in series with an adjustable resistance 13 and an adjustable shunt resistance 16 being provided across the leads on the output side of the resistance 13. The resistance 13, which is variable independently of the resistance 16, may take the form of a tapped coil, the tappings being connected to contact studs 14, or lamps connected in parallel may replace the coil or be provided in addition thereto. The slider 17 on the adjustable shunt resistance 16 may be connected directly to one of the lowtension terminals, the shunt in this case extending directly across the leads. The arrangement is combined with the means for supplying hightension voltage to wireless apparatus as described in Specification 248,861, choke coils 7, 8 being provided in leads 1, 2, condensers 5, 6, across the leads on opposite sides of the choke coils, an incandescent lamp or Neon tube 9 in one or each lead between the first condenser and the choke coils and a third or intermediate condenser 10 across the leads to a point between the lamp and the choke coils. The leads for the low-tension supply a.re taken from the leads 1, 2 immediately after the first condenser.
