Abstract

262,567. Cole, E. K. Nov. 2, 1925. Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-Plate current is supplied to the valves of wireless receivers from a source such as public supply mains through fixed or variable inductances f, g in one or both supply leads and through two or more resistances b, n<2> connected in parallel with one another and leading to separate terminals c, n for connection to separate valves or valve groups in the receiving set. Smoothing condensers i, i<1> are shunted across the terminals c, n and the negative terminal d. The resistances b, n<2> may be varied by a switch moving over contacts connected to tappings, or they may be of type employing a viscous resistance material. A further choke inductance o and shunt condenser p<2> may be employed for supplying a valve at higher voltage.
