Abstract

277,478. Hartley, A. Aug. 28, 1926. Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-Means for supplying steady high tension current to thermionic valve circuits from supply mains or from a source of rectified current a, b comprise iron cored chokes c, d connected in each supply lead and enclosed in metal shrouds c<2>, d<2> which are connected either directly or through a condenser g to earth. Supply of current to several circuits at different voltages is obtained either by using a number of series resistances connected to one of the output leads, or by a resistance j connected across the output leads and provided with tappings j<1>, j<2> connected to the output terminals. Condensers k<1>, l<1>, m' are connected across each output circuit. The devices may be enclosed in a moulded insulating casing on which are mounted the input and output terminals or sockets and also a terminal f for connection to the earth terminal of a wireless set, and a terminal h to be connected to earth or to a counterpoise. The cores of the chokes c, d may also be connected to the counterpoise or to earth either directly or through a condenser.
