Abstract

269,650. Banister, C. G., and Chloride Electrical Storage Co., Ltd. Jan. 19, 1926. Charging batteries.-Batteries are charged from alternating current mains through a thermionic rectifying valve (or valves in parallel) without using transformers, choking coils or the like in the anode circuit. The charging rate may be controlled by a variable resistance in series with an electrically heated cathode. A typical charging circuit for high and low tension wireless batteries is shown in Fig. 2. Stabilizing resistances may be used to limit the current in the anode circuits.
