270,797. Atherstone, R. S. Feb. 11, 1926. Electrolytic cells, arrangements of; converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-An arrangement for converting alternating current into approximately steady continuous current for supplying, for example, the filament or plate circuits of thermionic valves in wireless apparatus comprises two rectifying circuits in parallel and means in one or both circuits for producing relative phase displacement between the currents therein. The arrangement shown comprises electrolytic rectifiers 6 fed by transformers 5 and disposed so as to give full wave rectification in both circuits, the circuits being connected through smoothing inductances 8 to common output terminals 4. The necessary phase displacement is effected by a condenser 10 in the one circuit of an inductance connected at 9 in the other circuit.
