Abstract

[Class 38 (ii)] In a rectifying arrangement comprising a transformer 1 and rectifier 2 supplying a load such as the anode circuits of a thermionic amplifier at terminals 14, 15 through a filter circuit 5, 6, an auxiliary rectifier 10 in series with a condenser 9 is connected 'across the supply between the main rectifier 2 and the filter circuit in order to provide at terminals 15, 16 a D.C. supply to a second load such as the grid circuits of an amplifier. A. smoothing choke 11 and condenser 12 may be provided in association with the auxiliary rectifier. The output of the latter may be regulated by a variable resistance connected between the cathode of the rectifier 10 and the earthed terminal 15.
