Abstract
564,236. Frequency modulation. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FOOT, J. B. L. June 16, 1943, No. 9661. [Class 40 (v)] A frequency discriminating electric network comprises a high-impedance valve 1 with a series circuit comprising condenser C and inductance L across its anode and cathode. This circuit is resonant at the mean frequency of oscillations applied to the grid of the valve 1. The extreme terminals of the circuit CL are connected to like electrodes of diodes D1, D2 or other rectifiers, and the junction of CL is connected to the other like electrodes. A resistance R is connected across the rectifiers, with its mid-point connected to the common electrodes of the rectifiers. Output control voltage proportional to frequency deviation is taken off across the resistance R through a smoothing circuit 8, 9.
