Abstract

539,596. Thermionic valve circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. May 10, 1940. No. 8450. Convention date, June 30, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] A negative admittance is presented to an external circuit by arranging an amplifier with a bridge in parallel with the output with the input taken from across the opposite diagonal of the bridge and the external circuit constituting one of the arms of the bridge. Fig. 1 shows a diode detector 1 with a direct current load 3 having resistance 4 and condenser 5 in parallel to form the alternating. current load. The detector load with resistances N, P, Q forms a bridge with the input to amplifier t 1 across one diagonal and regenerative feedback applied to the other diagonal. In a modification Fig. 2 regenerative feedback is applied by a potentiometer formed by the detector load and resistance P<SP>1</SP> while a parallel potentiometer M<SP>1</SP>, N<SP>1</SP> gives regenerative feedback.
