Abstract
269,544. Andrews, E. F. April 12, 1926, [Convention date]. Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents. -An electrolytic condenser comprises electrodes of iron or a metal of the iron group in a solution of alkali such as potassium hydrate. In the arrangement shown a container A is divided by partitions A<1> over which are folded pieces of sheet iron B<1>, the end electrodes B<2>, B<3> being folded over the sides of the container and carrying terminals B<4>, B<5>. The surface of the electrolyte C may be covered with a film of oil C<1>. Fig. 3 shows a smoothing and rectifying circuit. in which a condenser E of the type described. is connected across the secondary D<3> of a transformer and a rectifier D<2>, the circuit also comprising a choke G.
