Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-In means for supplying wireless &c. apparatus with steady current from the mains 1, 2, there is provided in addition to the usual smoothing arrangements a pair of chokes 6, 7 and a pair of condensers 8, 9 connected in series, the point of interconnection of the condensers being earthed. In the case of A.C. mains the arrangement is introduced into the secondary circuit of the supply transformer 3 as shown, the transformer being mounted in the same casing as the chokes and condensers. The transformer is made interchangeable, and is constructed so that its core normally operates at saturation. The chokes are wound on supports 6, 7 mounted over the condensers and are separated by a metal partition 22. A similar partition 17 separates the transformer from the chokes and condensers, the partitions forming the point of interconnection of the condensers and being connected to an earth terminal 28. A metal cover encloses the whole assembly. Alternatively, the parts may be combined with the apparatus to be supplied with steady current.
