508,113. Converting. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Jan. 19, 1938, No. 1807. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1937. [Class 38 (ii)] In an arrangement for supplying an A.C. circuit 3 from a D.C. supply 10 through a vibratory interrupter 9 and transformer 2, the transformer is tapped 4 to accommodate the arrangement to supplies of different voltage, and the energizing windings 5 of the interrupter is supplied from a fixed part of one of the transformer windings. The interrupter is provided with contacts 14 so that in operation the connections of the D.C. circuit 10 to the tapped part of the transformer primary are periodically reversed, and is further provided with contacts 6, 7 so as to connect the winding 5 periodically across the whole of the transformer primary through a resistance 12. A further resistance 13 connected between the upper end of the winding 5 and the lower conductor of the D.C. supply is provided to make the arrangoment self-starting.
