[Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] A transformer for supplying a variable voltage of the type described in Specification 472,521 is modified for 3 - phase operation by providing two three-limbed cores on which the series connected primary and secondary windings P and S and the series opposed connected control windings St are mounted. The windings may. be mounted on the cores side by side or concentrically.
