277,766. Goble, J. July 2, 1926. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Lift valves; actuating-mechanisnm.-In a screwdown stop valve the screwed lower end of the spindle A6 engages directly with the sliding sleeve-like valve member C which is closed at its lower end and provided with an internal unthreaded recess at the bottom into which the screwed end of the spindle passes, in the open position of the valve, thereby preventing the jambing of the spindle against the bottom of the valve member. The valve member is prevented from rotating by ribs engaging grooves in the casing. Axial movement of the valve spindle. is prevented by a flange A4 thereon mounted and rotating in a recess in the casing, as shown. Specification 262,495 is referred to.
