Abstract

273,287. Bailey, F. T., and Austin, W. June 22, 1926, [Convention date]. Mixers with circulating devices.-White lead is made by repeatedly spraying a mixture of acidulated water and powdered anhydrous lead oxide or litharge through a current of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is admitted by a valve 12 to a tank 10 with a gas outlet 13. The oxide is admitted by a removable cover 11 and the liquid by a pipe 21 leading to a pump 15 which sprays it through a nozzle 17, whereon it is collected by a pipe 14 at the conical base of the tank and led to the pump again, being finally discharged by a pipe 18.
