Abstract
584,530. Aerating liquids. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Sept. 8, 1944, No. 17224. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1943. [Class 14 (i)] A carbonating device comprises a water spraying nozzle 31, disposed below the upper wall of a frusto-conical container 10 and surrounded by a collar 32 provided with ports 35, 36 adjacent the nozzle orifice. Carbon dixoide is supplied from a cylinder 37 outside the chamber 10, through tubes 46, 38 to the port 36 and is absorbed by the spray of water. Carbon dioxide in the chamber 10, not absorbed initially by the water, may be drawn into the spray through the second port 35. The discharge point of the nozzle 31 is disposed a critical distance below the top of the container and a critical distance above a base plate 47 spaced above the bottom of the container 10.
