Abstract

<PICT:0618232/III/1> In an apparatus for degassifying a liquid fuel supplied to a carburetting device 1 from a chamber in which a constant level is obtained by overflow over a weir 12, the said chamber communicating freely at the top with the atmosphere or with the air inlet of the carburetting device, and being provided with a fuel inlet 8 and outlet 7, a vertical partition 18 is provided in the chamber to form two compartments communicating through opening 17, or over the top of partition 18, the gases being liberated in the first compartment. Fuel is delivered by a pump 9 through a calibrated orifice 11 to the delivery pipe 8, preferably having a large transverse section where shown, and is supplied to the atomizing device 4 through jet 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a construction similar to Fig. 1, but wherein the partition 18 is not present. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
