Trigger guards; stocks; breech actions, sliding breech-blocks. - A trigger guard adapted to secure the stock to the breech body comprises a plate having at the front a hook engaging a projection secured to the breech body and at the rear a hook engaged by a catch mounted on the breech body and carrying the trigger. As shown, the plate 1, lying beneath the stock 6, has at the front a forked hook 3 engaging a T-headed bolt 4 screwed into the breech body 5. At the rear, the plate has a hook 10 engaged by a catch 11 pivoted on the breech body. The trigger 9 is mounted on this catch by a pivot 14 below the pivot 15 of the catch, and the trigger spring 18 serves also to press the catch into engagement with the hook 10. When the gun is assembled, the rear closing cap 20 engages lugs 19 on the catch and locks it in engagement with the hook 10.
