Abstract

180,486. B.S.A. Guns, Ltd., and Norman, G. March 29, 1921. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to guns having a vertically-sliding breech-block operated by an under lever, and having a triggersafety device adapted to be put on by the falling movement of the breech-block. According to the invention, the safety device is a lever 1 pivoted to the breech body at the rear of the breech-block 2 and having an inclined front face 4 adapted to be engaged by the breech-block during its falling movement, so that the lever 1 is moved into a position in which a lug 12 thereon engages a lug 13 on the trigger. The safety lever also has an upwardly projecting arm 14 terminating in a thumb-piece 18 by means of which the safety is moved to the off position. The trigger spring 11 is mounted in a hollow sliding bolt 24 which constitutes the catch for the operating-lever 26.
