Abstract
241,574. Zbrojovka Praga Spolecnost s.r.o. Oct. 17, 1924, [Convention date]. Machine guns.-Firing mechanism, adjustable for single-shot and continuous firing and for safety, has a sliding sear - operating link formed with a rigid projection adapted to be acted upon by the bolt-carrier for singleshot firing. As shown, the mechanism comprises a trigger 5 mounted on a pivot c, a sear 2, a sear-operating link 4. hinged to the trigger, having a projection f and a T-shaped end a, b passing through an aperture in the sear, and a rotatable regulator 6 engaging the link 4 and formed with two flat surfaces 6<1>, 6<11>, Fig. 6, at different distances from the axis. The link 4 is normally pressed upwards into contact with the regulator by a spring 7. For single-shot firing, Fig. 1, the link 4 is in its uppermost position with the upper tooth a of the T-end engaging the sear. In this position, the projection f on the link projects into the path of the bolt-carrier 1 so that the link is depressed to disengage it from the sear after a shot has been fired. For continuous firing, the regulator is turned so that the rounded surface engages the link 4 as shown in Fig. 5. The lower tooth b of the link is then in engagement with the sear and remains in engagement after the firing of a shot. In the safety position, the end of the link is in a central position in the aperture in the sear so that it is inoperative.
