Abstract

207,462. Declaye, J. March 23, 1923. Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Ejector mechanism has the sear spring adapted to act on the sear in a direction tending to disengage the sear from the hammer. As shown, the sliding hammer 3 is mounted in an ejector box 1 and is operated by a helical spring 2. The sear and sear spring are formed by a spring blade 13 having a hammer-engaging hook 14 and a projection 15 engaged by the cocking lever 12. When the gun is fired, the cocking lever rises and raises the sear into engagement with the hammer. When the gun is opened, the cocking lever turns back and releases the sear, which then, under the influence of its spring blade, releases the hammer.
