Abstract
225,178. Jonassen, A. C. Nov. 21, 1923, [Convention date]. Pistols.-In a pistol of the kind in which a marble or other round object is projected by a plunger operated by a spring-influenced lever, the lever is actuated by a trigger, the trigger and lever having interengaging parts whereby the pistol may be cocked, further movement of the trigger firing the pistol. The plunger 10 is provided with a transverse slot 12 in which rides the end of the lever 14 pivoted at 3 and engaged by one end of a spring 20, the other end of which engages the trigger 16. The trigger slides in the butt 2 and is provided with a recess 23 the forward end of which is offset forming a tooth 24 engaging the cam-shaped edge of the lever 14. On moving the trigger the lever is swung round its pivot until the tooth 24 engages a notch 28, when the pistol is cocked. The lever is provided with a transverse triangular depression 30, the lower edge of which, on further movement of the trigger, moves the tooth transversely and disengages the lever, thus firing the pistol. The marble, or other object, is held in the barrel by a spring 6, which may be doubled like a hairpin and provided with corrugations.
