Abstract

486,139. Automatic pistols. SCHMEISSER, H. Jan. 21, 1937, No. 1826. [Class 119] An automatic pistol is provided with an extensible shoulder piece 4 carried by rods 5 sliding in the stock 3. When the shoulder piece is in the inward position shown in full lines, it lies in a recess 3b in the grip 3a and completes the shape of the grip ; and when moved outwards, it allows a plate 6 guided by bolts 11 to be moved out slightly by springs 15 to complete the shape of the grip. In the extended position of the shoulder piece, hinges 5a in the rods 5 are exposed and enable adjustment of the pistol in relation to the shoulder piece. The rods 5 have recesses 10 near their ends to co-operate with a lever 7 for locking the shoulder piece in its extreme positions. The front end of the stock 3 is hinged at 2a to the magazine casing 2, which is rigid with the breech casing 1. The rear end of the casing 1 is provided with a lug 16 normally locked by a sliding catch 17.
