Abstract

263,890. Birmingham Small Arms Co., Ltd., and Norman, G. July 9,1925. Breech actions, sliding breechblock.-Relates to automatic guns of the kind in which the body is closed at the rear by a cap 1 secured by interrupted threads, the cap forming the rear abutment of the return spring 4 for the breech-bolt 7. To facilitate assembling and stripping of the parts, the end cap is provided, with internal lugs 5 adapted, when the bolt 7 is retracted and the end cap turned, to disengage it from the body, to engage lugs 9 on the rear end of the breech-bolt, and hold the return spring compressed within the tubular breech-bolt.
