Abstract

Combined open fireplaces and cooking-stoves; outlets to chimneys; boilers, arrangement of. - The oven 16 of a combination stove is removably fitted in order to allow access to the removable outlet flue pipe 27, which is preferably formed with a bottom flange 29 for bolting to the underside of the top plate 22. In the stove shown, the connections between the service pipes 33, 34 and the flow and return pipes 30, 31 of the boiler 8 are made in the rear oven flue so as to be accessible when the oven is withdrawn. The back of the oven is formed 'with two vertical recesses to accommodate the pipes 33, 34. The stove comprises a grate 1 raised only sufficiently to allow a shallow ash-pan below it, a hob 5 on each side, and fixed or detachable shelves 35 in the spaces formed above the hobs and at each side of the oven. The gases pass both through an opening 15 above the fire and through the boiler flues 9, 10 in the oven flues, a damper 14 pivoted at 13 determining the proportion taking either course, according to whether it occupies the position shown in full or broken lines.
