Addition to 17829/15 Cooking-ranges; boilers, arrangement of.-Comprises detail improvements, more especially in and relating to the boilers, in the double-fronted combined cooking-range, parlour fire, and washing-boiler described in the parent Specification. Figs. 2 and 6 show a double-fronted stove set in the walls W dividing two apartments: its front on the parlour side is normally closed by cover plates b<7>, b<8>, a tiled panel or draught plate g<1> which may be lifted into a recess, and a tiled panel E which may be moved aside in guides, as shown in Fig. 2, to expose the oven D and the hot closet d<1> above it. When the stove is used as a parlour fire only, the plates b<7>, b<8> are removed and the plate g<1> raised; the fire cover b<3> and door f<1> in the boiler also are removed, and the brick b<4> adjusted to the position shown in full lines in Fig. 6. The boot boiler F shown in Fig. 6 has one or more upcast flues f' leading from its interior, which may form the rear part of the fire space, and has water-tubes f<6> extending across its foot or lower part, and a stoking door G at the back; the lower part, which is open at the base, may extend down to the fire-grate. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the tubes f<6> are fitted in the leg or upper part of the boiler, the lower part of which forms the whole of the fire-space. The front of the upper part is closed by a door or cover-plate d<15> secured by hook-ended bars and screws. Apertures through the water space are provided with doors to give access to the interior from either apartment. In another arrangement, the leg of the boiler is situated on the parlour-side, and the fire-grate is immediately beneath it. The gases from the fire pass over the oven D to the other flues and to the chimney. A washing-boiler may be arranged close to the boilers F, so that the gases from the fire can pass through its flues when required.
