Abstract

226,922. Franklyn, A. C., and Billington, W. J. Nov. 8, 1923. Combined open fire-places and cooking-stoves; supports for articles to be heated; boilers, arrangement of. -A combination heating, cooking, and water-heating stove is provided with a hollow trivet or hot plate which when in position is connected to a flue on each side of the grate, one leading from the fire-space and the other to a back flue, the combustion products thus passing through the trivet or hotplate. In the stove shown, combustion products pass through a flue 11 beneath the hob 9 to the interior of the trivet 13, and thence through a passage 12 below the hob 10 to a flue 8 at the side of the back boiler 2, from which they pass up the flue 4 to the oven flues. Doors are provided for closing the front openings of the passages 11, 12 when the trivet is not in use. The oven 16 may be withdrawn from the front for cleaning the flues, being held in position by a thumb nut 28 on a screwed pillar 29.
