Abstract

4502. Fisher, R. P. March 23. Cooking-stoves.-In a stove of the type comprising a sitting-room fire-place with an oven above it heated by side flues leading from the fire-place, the flue 4 at one side is closed at its upper end, a passage 7 connects the two flues 4, 5, and the flue 5 extends up to the top of the oven and across it to the chimney, beating also a plate-warming recess shown in dotted lines in Fig. 3. When the oven is not required, the gases pass direct to the chimney through a rear oven flue 13 controlled by a damper 12, which, when pulled forward by the rod 14, opens the flue 13 and closes the outlet from the top oven flue. The floor 10 of the oven is of fire-brick or the like and is removably fitted in a metal frame 11. The grate is of the kind described in Specification 7420/12, and has a utensil-supporting rail 16 movable in slots 17. The stoves may be made as single or double independent stoves for use in hospitals &c.
