Combined open fireplaces and cooking-stoves; boilers, arrangement of. - The boiler 12 of a domestic fireplace is surrounded, and partly supported,by a one-piece fire-block or back 11 which, in the combination stove shown, comprises an inclined back 11<a>, sides 11<b>, and integral projections 11<c> forming front corner supports for the boiler. The rear part of the oven 1 is carried by the boiler, which is of L-form. The gases from the fire pass beneath the boiler, and thence under control of a damper, to the bottom, side, and top oven flues, and between converging plates 20 to the chimney 19; or through a flue 31 passing up one side and over the top of the boiler, and thence vertically up to the chimney, the top of this flue being controlled by a damper 32.
