Abstract

419,773. Combination ranges. WILSONS & MATHIESONS, Ltd., and MATHIESON, W., Scotch Foundry, Forge Lane, Armley, Leeds. Aug. 30, 1933, No. 24024. [Class 126.] A combination range having an oven above the fire is provided with a pair of interdependent and separatelypivoted dampers l, p providing alternative courses for the flue gases, one damper l having an actuating member n attached to it and being provided with a projection or projections r which engage the other damper so that it moves simultaneously with the first. In the stove illustrated, the dampers in the position shown cause the gases to pass below and up the rear of a boiler c, to the oven flues. In the other extreme position the damper l fully opens the outlet e from the space above the fire to the oven flues, and the damper p closes the top of the flue at the rear of the boiler. The boiler may be replaced by a member providing similar flue passages. When the damper l closes the outlet e, " lazy " smoke rising from the fire passes by outlets t to the chimney.
