Abstract

320,201. Kidston, R. Sept. 5, 1928. Combined open fireplaces and cooking- stoves.-In a fireplace having a rear boiler 8 separating branch flues 6, 7, together with an oven 5 above it, one branch flue 6 opens directly into flues 4 surrounding the oven, and the other flue 7 into a damper-controlled bypass flue 9 at the rear of the oven. A pivoted damper 12 controls both the open fire outlet flue 2 and the flue 6, and a damper 13 allows the flue 9 to be connected either to the flue 7 or the oven flues 4. Sliding dampers 14, 15 control respectively the outlets from the flues 4, 9.
