[Class 126.] A fireplace having a boiler c is provided with a panel movable from the forward position shown in full lines, in which it closes the front of the grate to provide a closed fire, to a rear position, against the boiler, in which an open fire is provided, or to an intermediate position in which the fire is semi-open and a flue is formed between the panel and the boiler. In the construction shown, the firebrick panel l hangs from arms m hinged in brackets n, and is held in the adjusted position by a notched bar o. When the fire is closed, air is supplied through a door or grid r in an insulated cover-plate b, and passes down the space between this plate and the panel l to the underside of the grate.
