[Class 126.] Dampers. - In a fireplace convertible from open to closed fire by lowering or raising a hinged plate d, the gases when the plate is lowered passing up a rear flue b, a damper f is pivoted at the top of this flue and is provided with a portion which projects forwardly and is engaged by the plate d when it js raised, the damper being thus moved rearwardly to the position shown, to close the flue.
