[Class 126] Two back-to-back firegrates a, b are associated with two side flues i, j and two oblique, horizontal passages e, f which each lead from one of the grates to one of the side flues, which discharge into a common chimney m. The passages e, f are provided beneath a water-heater c or a dummy piece which may replace it, and are formed either in the brick or metal support d or by suitably shaping the underside of the waterheater c. The flue l leading to the chimney m from the flues i, passes up at the rear of the oven o, which is above the grate a. A flue p leads from an opening at the side of each grate to the flues q, r around the oven. A damper u controls both the flues p, and a damper v controls the flue p from the grate a. Dampers w, x control the direct flow of gases from the grates to the chimney, and dampers n control the flues i, j. The dampers u, x are connected and are operated by a single rod z.
