Abstract
254,122. Frommer, R. von. July 30, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing jee not paid). Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Relates to selective ejector mechanism of the kind having a spring-pressed hammer held by a sear, and a sear-tripping member slidably mounted in the action body. According to the' invention, the tripping member has a projection in a different plane from its working edge and is returned to its inoperative position during the breaking of the barrels by a cam surface on the fore-end acting on the projection. As shown, the sliding ejector hammer 15 is held by a pivoted sear 11. The sear-tripping member comprises a sliding bolt 6 adapted to be pushed out into the operative position, in which a step 8 thereon can engage the sear, by the head 3 of the stem of the sliding firing hammer 1. A spring-pressed detent 5 engages a bevelled recess in the tripping member and tends to hold it in its operative position. The member 6 is returned to its inoperative position, during the breaking of the barrels, by a cam surface 21 on the fore-end iron 19 engaging a side projection 9 on the member.
