Abstract

Machine guns.-The trigger mechanism of an automatic gun of the short barrel-recoil type in which the breech-block is locked to the barrel before the completion of the forward movement thereof, is provided with adjustable mechanism whereby the gun can be fired automatically at any instant between the closing of the breech and the completion of the forward movement of the barrel. By this means the recoil may be modified. As shown, the sear 19 carried by the barrel extension 2, is, during automatic firing, operated by striking against a cam projection 24 carried by the forward end of a trigger rod 22. The extent of the trigger pull, and consequently tha position of the cam 24, are controlled by a cam lever 27 at the back of the trigger guard. Specificaton 214,978 is referred to.
