Abstract

241,078. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Hotchkiss et Cie. Jan. 7. 1925, [Convention date]. Machine guns.-Trigger mechanism of the kind having a sear lever connecting the trigger and the sear and a controlling device which can be adjusted for single-shot firing, continuous firing, or safety, has a tripping lever adapted, when the controlling device is set for single-shot firing, to be actuated by some moving part of the breech mechanism and to act positively on the sear lever to disengage it from the sear. The invention is shown applied to a gas-operated gun. The tripping lever 25 has three arms, one formed with a projection 27 adapted to be engaged by a shoulder on the piston P, one 29 adapted to act on a projection 30 on the sear lever 9, and one engaged by an eccentric 33 on the adjusting device. When the eccentric is turned to the position shown in Fig. 5, for single-shot firing, the projection 27 is in position to be struck by a shoulder on the piston P. When the eccentric is turned to the position shown in Fig. 6, the lever is turned so that it is not operated by the piston and the sear lever remains in engagement with the sear so that firing is continuous. A further rotation of the eccentric to the safe position disengages the sear lever from the sear. Specification 219,013 is referred to.
