Abstract

217,448. Grafton, W. F. July 11, 1923. Addition to 205,962. Spray carburettors.-The carburettor described in the parent Specification is modified by constructing the needle valve with a flat taper on one side so that a constant proportion is maintained between the area of the orifice opened by the needle and the area between the suction lifted air valve H and the surface of a curved choke tube C. The choke tube is adjustable in its outer casing and a portion is cylindrical. To prevent fluttering of the valve, its stem carries a plunger C<1> which is an easy fit in the casing X, the chamber W therein being connected by holes b and an annular passage D to the induction pipe and acting as a dash-pot.
