Hoists with guided platforms.-The hoisting- rope g of a guided platform hoist m for use in building can be detached and used for raising girders &c. either by lowering the pivoted jib e, Fig. 1, or by passing the rope over a pulley f<2> at the outer end of a fixed jib e, Fig. 5. Each of the jibs is rotatable about a vertical axis, and the platform m, Fig. 5, is rotatable about a vertical pivot r. In a modification the platform can be locked to the jib and rotated with it.
