Jib cranes.-To ensure horizontal movement of the load in luffing, the hoisting rope is passed round two sheaves at 7 on the jib and a sheave 8 carried by a lever 11 pivoted at 12, an intermediate point 14 of the lever being connected with the jib as by a link 14, 15. The compensating-gear is completely within the space delimited by the crane platform 1, a guide-sheave 6 for the hoisting rope and the lower part of the jib.
