Abstract

245,477. Wilson &, Co., Ltd., J. H., and Midgley, W. July 4, 1924. Jib cranes.-To obtain horizontal travel of the load during luffing, the load rope 7 passes over pulleys 9, 11, 9<1> to the hoisting drum 12, and the luffing rope 13 passes from the jib over a pulley at 9 to the luffing drum 16 and thence ever a pulley 17, and is anchored to the frame of the pulley 11 of the hoisting gear. A tail-rope 18 from the luffing drum carries a balance weight 20. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 18540/12, 23976/14, and 110,458.
