Abstract
788,843. Cranes. PINGON, P. J. May 23, 1956, No. 16030/56. Class 78 (4). A crab 7, which travels on rails 3 on a crane jib 2, carries three pulleys 8, 9, 10, and the hoisting cable 15 passes over pulley 8, then under a pulley 13 from which a load hook 11 is suspended, over pulley 9, under a pulley 14 from which a second load hook 12 is suspended, and finally over pulley 10. Normally, hook 11 is locked to the crab by a device 16 by operated means of a hand wheel 17 and only hook 12 is used, but on releasing hook 11 and adding a yoke 18, double-weight loads may be carried without increasing the tension in the cable.
