Abstract

177,293. Pickard, W., and Dobson, D. R. Jan. 13, 1921. Spray carburettors.-A carburettor of the kind in which the air and fuel are heated by exhaust gases and also electrically, comprises a casting a containing a fuel-chamber c<2>, an annular chamber a<1> through which exhaust gases pass, and air inlet passages b, and surmounted by a porcelain block d surrounding the fuel-nozzles e and provided with a series of holes d<1> containing an electric resistance wire r. The supply of fuel to the nozzle is controlled by a valve j actuated by a Bowden wire n.
