Beams; reinforced-concrete beams; joist floors; reinforced-concrete floors; walls.-A beam or like structural unit intended to resist a bending- moment consists of two metal plates A, B, the plate B being formed with tongues C which are bent down and secured directly to the plate A; continuous strips B<2> are left in the plate B. The tongues and strips form channel-shaped ribs in which may be inserted a trough-shaped reinforcement G. To form a floor, the units may be supported on the lower flanges of joints and be filled with and covered with concrete. The lower plate may be perforated to key with plaster. The unit may be used without concrete filling, and is applicable for walls and door panels.
