Abstract

290,038. Sorensen, H. April 20, 1927. Reinforced concrete.-The reinforcing bars in concrete floors and other structures are provided with an inclined hook 5 at one end and a bent hook 2 at the other end. The bars are slightly shorter than the span, and are tensioned and secured when the inclined hook 5 is driven down against the edge of the joist and bent under the flange 6. Fig. 4 shows a floor bay with longitudinal and transverse bars 1 secured to joists 3 which in turn are carried by columns 4.
