A floor comprises concrete cast over a series of beams each having a steel lattice beam projecting upwardly from a lower concrete flange which at each of its edges is in contact with an edge of the lower flange of an adjacent beam or with an adjacent part of the building. The underneath surface of the lower concrete flange is, in the moulding process, provided with longitudinally extending formations or with panels to form a soffit. Several parallel steel lattice beams may be embedded in a single lower concrete flange.
