Abstract

1,253,621. Moulding brick panels. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 3 March, 1970 [4 March, 1969], No. 11446/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Divisions E1-E2] A brick panel is made by laying a plurality of bricks 16 in a horizontal layer, placing reinforcement 24 in slots 14 and/or 18 between the bricks, and passing through the gaps between the bricks in adjacent rows, and pouring mortar in the slots and between the bricks. A layer of foam plastics may then be cast over partially projecting reinforcement or foam plastics slabs or inflated bags positioned on top of the layer and a further layer of slotted bricks followed by further mortar applied thereto. Reinforcement rods 22 connected by wires 28 may be laid between the rows in a layer. The reinforcement which may be rods or a hoop of wire having cross ties may project at the ends to form lifting loops or reinforcement for attaching to cast floors or ceilings. Window openings have angle section members across the top thereof which are connected to the reinforcement.
