Abstract

1395748 Reinforced concrete structures BEKAERT SA NV 1 June 1972 25740/72 Headings E1B and E1W A panel or structure comprises at least one base panel 1, e.g. of cardboard, having adhered to at least one face a layer of concrete or mortar containing a multiplicity of wires distributed separately therein such that the spacing between adjacent wires is randomly irregular. The length of the wires is preferably less than the layer's thickness. As shown, the base panel 1 is of cardboard and has re-inforcement rods 2, 3 on opposite sides thereof which are welded together through holes 4 in the panel 1. The wires may be mixed with the concrete or mortar prior to application or the two may be sprayed onto the panel 1 separately but simultaneously. The panels 1 may be bent to shape and secured to a framework to form a building, the concrete or mortar being subsequently sprayed on. Insulation material may be inserted between two spaced panels. One side may be waterproofed to form a swimming pool. Plaster or tiles may be applied to the cement or mortar.
