Abstract

1442953 Constructing concrete buildings RHEINBAU GmbH 29 Nov 1974 [13 Feb 1974] 51836/74 Heading E1S Concrete buildings are constructed using prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs 1 both as temporary shuttering for the main loadbearing walls, e.g. cross-walls 9, and as permanent shuttering slabs for the floors, or as the floors. The reinforcement preferably, and as shown, comprises longitudinal trusses 3 and transverse trusses 4, the trusses 3 running through the trusses 4. The smooth faces of the slabs are preferably lined with plastics or plywood 6 when used as temporary wall shuttering. Slabs are also used as permanent shuttering for the gable walls. Concrete panels fitted with reinforcement hooks may be employed as stop ends for the wall shuttering. The length of the cross-walls 9 is approximately equal to the span of the floor, or a multiple thereof, and the other floor dimension should be an integral multiple of the wall height, whilst the floor span should be approximately double the wall height.
