Abstract
286,510. Tirifahy, L. May 12, 1927. Reinforced concrete columns, beams, and floors; walls.-Reinforced concrete structures are cast in situ without the use of temporary centreing by forming the reinforcements beforehand as undeformable skeletons secured to and enclosed in expanded metal casings which, when assembled, form a permanent mould, the concrete being placed as the erection proceeds. The column bases 2 are placed on foundations 7 and concreted, then the pillars 1 are erected and the main beam casings 3 placed on the shoulders 5. The transverse beam casings are carried by shoulders on the main beams, and the floor is formed by casting concrete over ribbed expanded-metal plates n, with continuity bars h and other reinforcements where desired. The walls are formed by securing single or double sheets of expanded metal to the pillars and girders and coating with concrete.
